How to delete the account you created in the World of Blue mobile app, what happens when you do, and what we are required to keep. You can start a request without being signed in — and without the app installed.
Delete your account in the app
The fastest way: open the World of Blue app, go to Profile → Account → Delete account, and confirm. Your account is then scheduled for deletion and kept for 30 days. Sign back in at any point within those 30 days and the deletion is cancelled and everything is kept. After 30 days your app data is permanently erased and cannot be recovered.
No app? Request by email
You can also request deletion without being signed in — even if you have already uninstalled the app. Email privacy@theworldofblue.com with the subject line "App Account Deletion Request" from the email address on your account, and tell us the name the account is under.
Prefer the phone? Call us at (201) 896-0500 and ask for an app account deletion; we'll start the same process.
Verification, timing & grace period
Verification. In-app requests are verified by the fact that you're signed in. For email or phone requests, we verify you by matching your request to the email address on the account — if you write from a different address, we send a confirmation to the account's email and act only once you confirm. This protects your account from deletion requests made by someone else.
Grace period. Every verified request is held for 30 days in case it was accidental or your account was compromised. To cancel during that window, simply sign back in to the app — that alone cancels the deletion and keeps everything. If you asked by email or phone and can no longer sign in, reply to us within the 30 days and we'll cancel it for you.
Timing. Your app data is erased once the 30-day window closes; deletion is permanent at that point and cannot be undone. For email and phone requests we send a confirmation when the request is scheduled.
What gets deleted — and what we must keep
Deleted with your account:
- Your account credentials and profile (name, email, sign-in method).
- The link between your account and any hotel reservation.
- Your message history with the front desk in the app.
- Photos and documents you uploaded during mobile check-in.
- Digital room key credentials issued to your device (any active key is revoked).
- App analytics identifiers tied to your account.
Retained after deletion: hotel stay records — reservations, folios, invoices, and payment records — belong to the stay, not the app account, and are kept for 7 years for tax, accounting, and chargeback compliance, the same retention as any other hotel booking. Card payments are processed by Stripe under its own retention rules; we never hold your card number. We may also retain specific records where the law requires it or where they are needed for fraud prevention or to resolve a dispute.
Delete some data without closing your account
Account deletion is all-or-nothing — but you don't have to close your account to remove specific data. You can ask us to delete selected items (for example, your front-desk message history or a photo you uploaded during check-in) while keeping your account active. Use the same email address above and tell us what you'd like removed.
California (CCPA/CPRA) and EU/UK (GDPR) residents also have formal access, correction, and deletion rights — see the "Your rights" section of our Privacy Policy. Anyone can ask us to delete their information, wherever they live.
